Nominations
Nominations are a way to automatically determine winners in tournaments and events based on predefined criteria.
Why Are Nominations Needed?
Nominations make competitions more engaging and motivating. They:
- Automate the winner determination process: Results are calculated based on participant data and their calculated standings, eliminating subjectivity.
- Diversify award formats: Participants can win not only in the overall standings but also in special categories.
- Increase engagement: Participants strive not only for first place but also to meet unique nomination conditions.
- Make events memorable: Each nomination adds individuality to the tournament. Nomination winners receive award badges that remain visible in their profiles.
How Do Nominations Work?
Setting Criteria: Tournament organizers define conditions for each nomination. For example:
- Covering the longest distance.
- Having the highest average pace.
- Achieving personal goals.
Or more complex ones:
- To earn a gold award, certain conditions must be met; for silver, others, and so on.
- One nomination is awarded to all participants, while another is split into male and female categories.
Automatic Calculation: The system analyzes participant data (workouts, points, achievements) and determines winners in each nomination after the workout submission period ends.
Awarding: Winners receive prizes, badges, or other awards displayed in their profiles and on the tournament page.
Examples of Nominations
Here are some popular types of nominations that can be used in tournaments:
1. Distance Leader
- Criterion: Participant who covered the longest distance during the tournament.
- Example: "Runner of the Year" — an award for the longest distance in the running category.
2. Most Consistent Participant
- Criterion: Participant who trained daily or most frequently during the tournament.
- Example: "True Marathoner" — an award for consistency.
3. Team Spirit
- Criterion: Team or club earning the most points or completing the most tasks.
- Example: "Best Team" — an award for the collective contribution of all members.
4. Personal Record
- Criterion: Participant who achieved the greatest improvement compared to their previous results.
- Example: "Breakthrough of the Year" — an award for improving a personal record.
5. Fastest Pace
- Criterion: Participant who demonstrated the highest average pace in one or more workouts.
- Example: "Lightning" — an award for speed.
How to Know If I’ve Won?
After the tournament ends, the system automatically determines winners for each nomination. Results are published on the tournament page and displayed in your profile.
